Who We Are

The Central Baptist Church of Winter Haven, Inc. is an Independent, Fundamental, King James Bible-Believing, Soul-Winning Baptist Church located at 57 6th St NW, Winter Haven, Florida. We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN: 59-3144168), incorporated in the State of Florida. For decades, our congregation has been committed to preaching the unchanging Word of God and faithfully serving our community and the world through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our mission is simple and timeless: to glorify God by preaching His Word without compromise, winning souls to Jesus Christ, and discipling believers to grow in faith and service. We are committed to reaching Winter Haven and the surrounding region with the Good News of salvation, and to supporting missionaries taking that message to the ends of the earth.

Senior Pastor

Dr. Gene Wiggins

Central Baptist Church of Winter Haven has served the Polk County community for many years, with deep roots in Winter Haven's religious heritage. In 1985, Dr. Gene Wiggins became Senior Pastor, a role he continues to fill today. Under his leadership, the church has grown in both congregation and outreach, expanding its ministries to reach families, children, seniors, teens, and communities in need both locally and internationally.

Our Programs & Active Ministries

Ministries for Every Stage of Life

Bus Ministry

Each week, our Bus Ministry brings families and individuals from across the surrounding community to church services, removing transportation as a barrier to hearing the Gospel.

Children's Ministry

We invest in the next generation through age-appropriate Bible teaching, activities, and Vacation Bible School (VBS), providing a solid foundation of faith for children of all ages.

Missions

Central Baptist Church is deeply committed to supporting the Great Commission worldwide. Each year, the church gives over $250,000 to missionary support, funding workers who carry the Gospel to unreached peoples around the globe.

Prison Ministry

Our congregation reaches beyond church walls into local correctional facilities, bringing the hope of the Gospel to incarcerated individuals in the Winter Haven area.

Seniors Ministry (50 & Wiser)

Our seniors program provides weekly fellowship, Bible study, and encouragement for members aged 50 and above, ensuring every stage of life is surrounded by community and spiritual support.

Teen Connection

Our teen ministry engages youth through preaching, singing, service projects, and age-appropriate activities, equipping the next generation to stand firm in their faith.
